ISLAM
The word "Islam" is Arabic and means
"submission to the will of God." Islam teaches thatone must submit to
God - Allah, in Arabic - in order to achieve true peace of mind. islam is the greatest religion of the world.Allah
sent different prophets for guidance of mankind but then he sent his last
prophet Hazrat Muhammad (born in 570 a.d) for guidance of man kind.One day he
was praying in the cave hira when angel jibrael appeared and gave him message
of god to spread islam This was time when the first 5 verses of quran were sent
to muhammad. Muhammad accepted this as a true revelation
from heaven and it encouraged him to now announce his mission.
He openly announced himself as the prophet of
Allah, ‘divinely commissioned to lead the Arab people to a new morality and a
monotheistic faith’. Muhammad condemned the worship of many gods and idols, as
was then prevalent amongst the Arab tribes. By doing so, he turned the Arabs
and also his own tribesmen against himself. He was abused and stoned by them.
Some Arabs got together to plan his murder. but he continued his strugle than by the order
of allah.he migrated to madina soon many people embarrsed islam but
non-believers continued their struggle and many battles took place between them
but atlast makkah was conquered and islam spread in more than half of the world
and the book of allah Holy Quran was completed before the death of last prophet
of god. The teachings of Muhammad are contained in the ‘Holy Quran’.
Some of his teachings are as follows:
1. There is only one god- ‘Allah’ and Muhammad is his prophet.
2. Idol worship is a curse and should be abandoned.
3. All men are equal and there should be no distinction of any
sort among the prophet’s followers. There should be no question of inferiority
and superiority.
4. There will be a day of judgment when each one will be
rewarded or punished according to one’s deeds.
5. A Muslim should pray on Friday at the mosque and observe the
five appointed times of prayer or Namaz.
6.He should
give charity to the poor.
7. He should fast during the month of Ramzan. This is regarded
as one of the very pious duties of every Muslim.
8. Muslim should go to Mecca, once in a lifetime.
Muhammad was against the
practice of drinking and gambling. He also
vehemently condemned the taking of the flesh of pig.
After his death islam started to spread more but
after many years muslims started to become lazy and weak so the sun of islam
started to fade but still it is the powerful religion of world.
Islam is the best religion.It does not forces
anyone to become muslim.It doesnot allows to kill anyone without any reason or
to loot anyone.It teaches us to love each other and be brothers and help each
other.For coming into islam we have to believe in that allah is one and
muhammad (s.a.w)is his prophet.Only after this anyone can enter in islam.Islam
teaches many more things like to respect elders and women and fulfil their
rights and to treat kids with kindness.You can find guidance about everything
from here in every aspect of life because it is like an open book.Islam is the
only way to get success in this and after this world.
